Hope is not lost in humanity cause as a Save Our Soul appeal which was like one of the regulars on social media has met with the favour of Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State.

"Shaibu Abdulrahman, 32, resides at Kabba junction in Adavi LGA. He is a graduate of metallurgical & Material Engineering from Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi State. In March 2016, he woke up one morning with a slight swell on his right cheek. Weeks later, the swollen face aggravated. The strange growth was first investigated and diagnosed as a Lymphoma at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Lokoja Kogi State where he was referred to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika.

"Abdulrahman who sponsored his education through self-effort also owned 3 shops around Kabba Junction area of Adavi LGA where he dealt in various petty business and rendered basic services to mobile phone users. Today, his businesses closed down after he exhausted all his savings on medical treatments.

"At ABUTH, he was prescribed some control drugs to subdue the increase swelling of his face. The drugs, according to him, cost about N200,000 per dose and was advised to take about 5 doses before a biopsy could be conducted. As at the moment, the helpless young man is almost loosing his entire face to the mysterious growth and can only take liquid as the ailment has shifted his mouth and the entire mandible."

It was based on the above predicament that the appeal was raised, before Governor Bello in less than 12 hours of publication, took full responsibility of the treatment.
