Faith Alone  is not alone.  (5)

*"And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness...*"

Godliness is a word fast fading away in the vocabulary of some believers. This ought not to be so. Jesus is our focal example of what godliness is. 1 Timothy 3:16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory".
*Godliness is the demonstration of the form and character of Christ in our daily life and choices*.

*Godliness is not a gift of the spirit, so don't say I'm not gifted in that area, no!.   It's something you can exercise yourself unto*. 1 Timothy 4:7-9
"But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

Paul had alot more things to say about godliness, it's benefits and how not to loose it as believer: Titus 2:11-14 *"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, DENYING UNGODLINESS and WORLDLY LUSTS, we should LIVE SOBERLY, righteously, and GODLY, in this present world; LOOKING for THAT BLESSED HOPE, and the GLORIOUS APPEARING of the GREAT GOD and OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST; WHO GAVE HIMSELF FOR US, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works*".

Lust, covetousness and Greed can affect your choice of godliness.

1 Timothy 6:10-11 "*For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness"*

Association, wrong teachings, philosophies and relationships can affect your choice of godliness.

1 Timothy 4:7 *"But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness*" 2 Timothy 2:15-18
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred..."

Godliness has benefits.
1 Timothy 6:6 "But godliness with contentment is great gain".

*I'm expected and engraced to live a godly life, I make the decision afresh again today for each day in every way in Jesus name.  Amen*.
