“ One Nigeria”By: Arowolo Solomon Alaba

Nationalism and ethnic pride, in the long run, delay human development, and the misery they cause must be recognized. If enough people saw that, maybe we wouldn't have so many wars.
The unity of Nigeria will only come if we overcome and overgrow tribe, materialism and selfish human nature.
The truth is, there is good and bad in every nation, in every race, and in every religion. To hear someone say that all the people that belong to a certain country, race, or religion are bad — is extremely untruthful and makes the person making the statement lose credibility right away. We must understand that we are all flawed and even nature is flawed.
Nobody is perfect, and no country, race or religion is perfect. Duality and polarity are imprinted in everything in nature — in all humans, and even within ourselves. For example, there are those who are ignorant, and those who are wise.
We've rigged the entire system of living in harmony with nature against ourselves. We raise our children and inculcate various "isms" into them. They in turn perpetuate it by passing the same (if not more) onto their's which means We raise slaves, not independent thinkers.
Despite it all, there were heroes who rose above their circumstances. Those who reached out to people of another race with compassion and even love.
Our Essence of unity should not be -ethnicity, or nationality or religion - it is an idea - and what an idea it is: That you can come from humble circumstances and do great things which means as a nation we should be a welcoming nation. Our identity shouldn’t base on race or ethnicity; it should be based on a set of shared values. That's Nigerian citizenship.
We must make sure that that future that we're creating is one that is the best it can be for people around the world, and also one that includes the full range of our talent and our skills - and, you know, gender and ethnicity, geography – to solving the world's problems.
