Describe Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye as humility personified; you have only hit the bull’s head. If you also call him a man with the medal touch, you have said the obvious.
Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye, member Kogi State House of Assembly, representing Ijumu Constituency was born on the 19th August, 1971 at his home town, Ekinrin/Adde into a humble family background where humility, hard work, respects for elders and dedicated to duty are the watchwords.

He started his education career at ILSMB Primary School Babaloma where he obtained his first school leaving certificate.

Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye’s love for education took him to Ikoyi-Ijumu Community High School for his Secondary School Education. This down to earth lawmaker further attended Kwara College of Education, Oro for his higher certificate.

Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye’s zeal for higher learning took him to prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he obtained Bachelor Degree of Arts in English Language.

Today, this Ijumu born new breed politician has adequate and cognate experience in Legislative matter span over 15 years having worked at the National Assembly and as Elected Councilor, Ekinrin/Adde ward and now Ijumu ambassador at the Kogi State House of Assembly.

He is currently the Chief Whip and the Chairman House Committee on Ethics, Protocols and Privileges and Member of many committee in the House of Assembly.

Before joining National Politics, Omofaiye had played Politics at the students union, and held many positions at the different levels of unionism both at home and school.

In 1998, he was the president of English Literary Association Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Public Relation Officer (PRO) English Literary Association, ABU Zaria 1994, Director of Socials Ekinrin-Adde Student Union 1991, Director of Socials IJumu Student Union ABU Branch in 1996, and Secretary Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, Abuja branch among others.

When he was a councilor, Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye was the Deputy Whip Ijumu Legislative Council, Chairman Ijumu Legislative council committee on information and later Chairman Council Committee on Public Petition and Member of Numerous of other Community Development Associations.

As a public Officer, Adewale Omofaiye records of Achievement are worthy of emulation by other public office holders in Ijumu Local Government and Nigeria in General.

The people of his community (Ekinrin-Adde) will not forget easily his free for all Computer Training Programme with no fewer than 60 beneficiaries. Infact, there is no sector of economy that Adewale Omofaiye did not touch as a councilor and a legislative Aide.
As a member of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Omofaiye has raised Motions aimed at improving on the standard of living of Ijumu and Kogi people in general.

Some of the Motions moved on the floor of the State House of Assembly by this humble and advocate of the masses are:

*Motion calling on the State government for the completion of Ekinrin-Adde and Iyara township roads.

*Motion calling for the reconstruction of Okoro-Ayeh-Aiyegunle roads.

*Motion calling on the State Government to establish Kogi State Television Station in Lokoja.

*Motion calling on the State Government to address the menace of Fulani “Herdsmen” in Ijumu Local Government.

*Reconstruction of Asaya-Ogidi-Ayere-Ogale –Aduge road.

*Matter of Urgent Public importance for Kogi State Government to help Kehinde Bamidele who was attacked by Boko Haram in Damaturu in Yobe State in 2009.

*Matter of Urgent Public importance to provide a relief materials for the victims whose plantation and farm land were destroyed at Iffe Ijumu.

*Motion calling on the State Government to address the inadequate Academic Staffs in Kogi State College of Education (Technical) Kabba.

*Motion calling on the House to investigate and condemn the invasion of the House of Assembly Complex by hoodlums.

*Matter of Urgent Public Importance calling for the Immortalization of Hon. (Chief) Adeleye a pioneer member of Kogi State House of Assembly who passed away to the eternal-life.   

Some of the bill sponsors are:

*A bill to establish Kogi State Television.

*A bill to protect Agricultural Zones in Kogi State.


*Drilled six boreholes in Ijumu Constituency
*Paid NECO fees for thirty (30) students in Secondary Schools (Public and private) in Ijumu Local Government Area.

Hon. Omofaiye Empowerment Programme.

*Awarded scholarship to some indigent students of Ijumu Origin in tertiary institutions.

*Empowered some Ijumu women through Mrs. Modupe Omofaiye skills acquisitions scheme.

*Provided exercise books and chalks worth millions of naira to primary and secondary schools in Ijumu Local Government Area.

*Extended over N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) only to Ijumu Development Movement (IDM) for its program.

*Provided some food items to Ijumu Students in tertiary institutions.

*Has been working in harmony with Ijumu Development Movement by attending their meetings and conference to discuss way forward for Ijumu constituency.

*Extended financial assistance to some communities in Ijumu.

*Gives financial assistance to many Ijumu citizens/youth

*Opened functional constituency office in Iyara.

*Presented to Government the need for upgrading of some traditional stools in Ijumu Local Government Area.

*Established mutual working relationship with other political office holders of Ijumu Origin.
Facilitated admission for some Ijumu youths at higher institutions of learning.

In recognition of his invaluable contributions to the upliftment of the lives of the masses, some organizations across the country have freely given award of excellence performance to this pragmatic and dynamic lawmaker.

Today, he has to his credit the following awards of meritorious service to Ijumu People and Nigeria in General.

*Nigeria humanitarian icon Award by an Abuja based media organization.

*Award of Excellence by National Youth Council. Ijumu Local Government Chapter.

*Award of Excellence by Child’s Dream.

*Award from National Association of Okun Students and lot more.

Other organizations that gave awards to this humble and friend of journalists are Ijumu Development Movement, (IDM) Ijumu Students Union, Kogi State University Chapter and Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, Lokoja Branch.

Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye is married to a Mass Communicator and a beautiful daughter of Iyara land Mrs. Modupe Omofaiye and the marriage is blessed with children.
