Kogi State Television Set to Take-Off Thursday, November 23, 2017

Plans have been completed on the effective take-off of Kogi State Television as the final report for its operation has been submitted to the State Government. Graphics Newspaper reports.

While receiving the report on behalf of the State Government, the Director-General of Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr. Abdulmalik Abdulkarim disclosed that the State already possessed the required human resources and technical know-how to commence the operation of the television.

He also said the State Government would partner with an established Digital Satellite Television Station to make the project cost effective; affirming that it would be one of the best State owned Television Stations in the country when completed.

The Director-General commended the technical committee that handled the report for being precise and frugal in their recommendations; saying their choices have reinforced hope in a vibrant and resilient Civil Service in the State.

He promised that the report would be delivered to the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for further action that would make it a reality for the benefit of the people of the State.

Earlier, the chairman of the Think Tank Committee Mr. Donatus Okpe explained that the committee’s recommendations were based on the prevailing Socio-economic structure of the State.

He called on the State Government to grant a waiver to the staffers employed by the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation in 2015, and also employ a few new hands to enhance performance at the proposed State Television Station.

He also enjoined the present administration to promptly attend to the renewal of the State Television Licence as Kogi State is the only state without a state owned television outfit.
